Sun September 21, 2024 CaIIK, H-alpha, H-beta and FeI(c)

Imaging the Sun with my Sol'Ex pro. It's getting better and better. The sawtooth is almost gone with the use of my EQ8 mount. Some images have it slightly but was due to seeing conditions. Not only is the Sol'ex more robust, finding the different spectrallines is also getting faster: H-alfa, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, CaIIH and K, Sodium (Na D1 & D2), Helium D3, MgI b1, b2, b4, FeI(c).

Setting: Sol'Ex pro on TLAPO60/360 and ASI290MM
Filter : Herschel Wedge
Software: SharpCap, Inti, CS4

Saturn Stack with IR742nm filter

Imaging Saturn with TAL200K f/8.5 with barlow x2 and ADC. This brings effective focal point to f/25.68. This time I used a bandpass filter IR742nm. The result was stacked with image taken with IR/UV blocker. The result shows much more details.

Setting:
Scope: TAL200K @f/25, ASI224MC on EQ8
Camera: ASI224MC
ADC, IR/UV blocker, IR742nm
Software: SharpCap4, AstroSurface, Winjupos, Stellarium, CS4

Sun September 20, 2024 Flare AR3831

Imaging the sun with Sol'Ex on sept 20, 2024. By accident a flare was observed in AR3831 but only in H-Beta and CaII H and CaII K.

Setting: Sol'Ex Pro, TLAPO60/360 with ASI290MM
Herschel Wedge
Mount EQ8: sawtooth almost gone compared with my EQ6
Software : SharpCap4, Inti, CS4

Sun in FeI(c) line with Sol'Ex

Imaging the Sun with Sol'Ex pro in FeI(c) line (495.761nm). Both traces of the photosphere and chromosphere are visible. Conditions were good.

Date : September 14, 2024
Setting: TLAPO 60/360 with Sol'Ex Pro and ASI290MM
Herschel Wedge
Software : Sharpcap 4, Inti, JSolex and CS4

Doppler Prominence

Prominece taken with Sol'ex pro on the morning of september 14.
Crop taken after editing with JSolex of H-alpha scan.

Setting: TLAPO60/360, Sol'Ex pro, ASI290MM, Herschel Wedge
Mount : EQ8
Software: SharpCap, JSolex, CS4

Solar Images with Solex and Sawtooth effect

Imaging the sun in the morning of september 14, 2024. I'm having some issues with sawtooth effect on the edges of the sun. The cause could be the mount scanning performance and/or turbulences. The figure out what the cause is, I used my bigger EQ8 mount. As a first conclusion: the sawtooth effect is much lower but on the other hand, the seeing was very good. This work will be continued.

Below images of the Sun in H-alpha, H-beta and CaII H.

Double Rainbow

A very bright double rainbow with in between a very dark Alexander's band.
