Total Solar Irradiance 1361W/m2 from SORCE

Final (V.19) TSI data products from the SORCE/TIM (SOlar Radiation and Climate Experiment/Total Irradiance Monitor) have been released (available from lasp.colorado.edu/home/sorce/data/tsi-data/ and disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/datasets?page=1&keywords=sorce), completing the instrument’s 17-year measurement record of the net radiant energy incident at the Earth and powering the Earth’s climate system. The many innovations in this new instrument improved the accuracy of the TSI measurement record and propagated that to other TSI instruments, leading to the establishment of the now-accepted TSI value of 1361 Wm−2. Other science results include the first detection of a solar flare in TSI and the measurements of two Venus and four Mercury planetary transits across the solar disk. The Mercury transits are indicative of expected signals of an Earth-like exoplanet transiting a Sun-like star.

Jupiter and GRS with ASI224MC and ADC

Poor seeing conditions between UT19h30 and UT22h30 but I was able to get some result of Jupiter with the Great Red Spot (GRS).
Setting : TAL200K f/8.5 and ASI224MC with barlow x2 and ADC. Capturesoftware ASIstudio, stacking using AutoStakkert! and final editing by CS4.

My best Jupiter picture so far using ASI224MC and ADC

So far my best picture of planet Jupiter. Seeing conditions were good.
Settting TAL200K f/8.5 and ASI224MC with barlow x2 and ADC. Area 640x480, 3000 frames and 33 fps. Stacking using AutoStakkert! and editing with CS4 and DeNoise AI.

Saturn with ASI224MC and ADC

Saturn on Sept 4th with good seeing conditions.
Setting : TAL200K f/8.5 and ASI224MC with Barlow x2 and ADC. Stacking using AutoStakkert! and editing with CS4 and DeNoise AI.

Experimenting with Ca-K filter and ASI224MC

Three groups of sunspots are visible on the sun : AR2866, AR2863 and AR2864. My objective was to experiment with the Baader Ca-K filter and ASI224MC camera and this on the TAL200K f/8.5 telescoop equiped with solarfilter ND3.8.

I used capture software ASIstudio and focussing went easier then expected. The Ca-K filter shows much more details around the sunspots. Stacking was done using AutoStakkert! and editing using CS4.
