ATT Essen goes digital

ATT Essen announced yesterday that the biggest Astronomy fair goed digital. How does will work was explained top line and more details to come.

See facebook link  and See ATT Essenwebsite

Bleiben Sie also gespannt.

ARISS SSTV Expedition 64 MAI 75

On January 28 & 29 the International Space Station (ISS) was transmitting 12 images as part of Expedition 64 MAI 75 Jan28&29, 2021.
I used webSDR from Nurnberg (Germany) to connect with ISS via 145800Hz. Pictures were decoded with MMSSTV. In total I followed 5 ISS flights resulting in 6 images : 2 good ones, 2 moderate and 2 bad ones.

Rare Ice Spike or staligmite of ice

For the second time (first time February 19, 2013) I was able to spot the rare Ice Spike and this in my own garden. Temperatures dropped below freezing point (-2.5°C) and this created a Ice Spike.
Ice Spikes can only formed when all circumstances are perfect. Circumstances are influenced by the purity of the water, amount of water, shape of the "container", surrounding temperature, temperature gradient and probably the air circulation and humitidy of the surrounding area.
