Mars and Open Starcluster M35 April 24 - April 29

Mars on April 25 around 10pm near Open Starcluster M35 - Source Stellarium

As from today, April 25 untill April 29, Mars can be observed near Open Starcluster Messier M35 (NGC2168 Cr 82 MEL41). The closest distance with M35 will happen on April 26 with Mars only 0.5° away. Other objects of interst near Mars are also Open Starclusters IC2156, IC2158 (CR80) and NGC2158 (CR81 MEL40).

Last month I was able to capture Mars with Open Starcluster NGC1746.

Planetary Nebula NGC2371-2

Planetary Nebula NGC2371-2is located in constellation Gemini and about 4400 light years away from Earth.

Leo Quartet NGC3190 Group

In addition to the well-known Leo Triplet there is also Leo Quartet. This NGC3190 group consists of 4 NGC members : NGC3185, 3187, 3190 and 3193. The entire group is alsno known as Hickson 44 and 3 members NGC3187, 3190 and 3193 are know as ARP316. The NGC galaxies are about 100-150 million lightyears away from Earth. On the picture some faint galaxies can be seen as well a Quasar (distance of about 3 billion lightyears away from Earth !)

Setting : Nikon D7500 and TAL200K f/8.5. ISO3200 and 42x60s with darks. Camera control with DigiCamControl and stacking using APP. Final editing with CS4

Mars and Open Starcluster NGC1746 March 30, 31 and April 1

Last three days Mars could be observed with Open Starcluster NGC1746. I took pictures on March 30, 31 and April 1, 2021. Unfortunately, clouds covered the sky on April 2nd at the moment of closest approach.

Setting : Nikon D7500 and TLAPO80/480 f/6, total exposure 40minutes and darks. Stacking with APP and final editing using CS4.

A compilation was made layering each day.
