Coma Cluster Abell 1656

The Coma Cluster (Abell 1656) is a collection of galaxies (more then 1000 identified galaxies) located in constellation Coma Berenices. The brightest member in the central region of the Coma Cluster is Coma B (NGC4889 or C35) and about 300 million ly away from Earth.

Using Astrometry.net about 100 galaxies can be seen on the picture (both NGC and IC)

Setting : TLAPO80/480 f/6 with ASI2600MC, guidingscope 30/120 with ASI224MC

Light : 12x300s, darks, bias, flats and darkflats

Quasar CSO784 z=1.922

My picture of C35 (NGC4889 or Coma B) shows 3 quasars of which one is Quasar CSO784. CSO784 has a redshift of 1.922. Using Ned Wright's standard settings, the light of this quasar travelled 10.2 billion years. 

NGC4712 & NGC4725

NGC4725 is located in constellation Coma Berenices and about 41 million light years away from Earth. On the picture is also NGC4712 which is about 200 million ly away from Earth.

Setting: TAL200K f/8.5 with ASI2600MC, guidescope 30/120 with ASI224MC

Lights : 12x300s with darks, bias, flats and darkflats

Needle Galaxy NGC4565

NGC 4565 or Needle Galaxy (C38) is an edge on spiral galaxy located in constellation Coma Berenices and about 40 million ly away from Earth.

Lights : 12x300s, darks, bias, flats and darkflats

Dr Eugene Parker has passed away

On Tuesday March 15, Dr. Eugene N. Parker (94), visionary of heliophysics has passed away. In 2018, Dr. Parker became the first person to witness the launch of a spacecraft bearing his name, NASA’s Parker Solar Probe.
